Donald Trump is a sick, twisted human being. And the Republicans are applauding and enabling his inhumanity! It’s truly abhorrent to watch.
What kind of people send others–without proof of wrongdoing–to languish away in reptile and insect-infested swamp camps?! What crime would have to be proven for you to say, “let them rot in prison before being deported–who cares where?”
Who deserves such treatment? Criminals? Again, without due process, there is no proof of wrongdoing.
NO ONE. The answer is no one. No one deserves this uncivil, inhumane treatment. And especially NOT our immigrant community, people of color whose only “crime” is having the wrong colored skin! But that is today’s reality under Donald Trump, a truly vile excuse for a human.
I refuse to believe that the majority of Americans see immigrants as the parasites Trump claims them to be. They are hard-working, valuable contributors to our communities. They are our friends and neighbors. The United States is great because of the diversity of its people and the melding and blending of cultures to create opportunity for ourselves and others. Very few of us are Native Americans, neither born nor suppressed here. The majority of us ARE immigrants. OUR FAMILIES were immigrants. It’s simply a matter of timing to claim any ownership of this land or the American opportunity; eligibility shouldn’t be based on when your ancestors arrived–or from where!
Nor should it be based on how much you can pay!! But that is the current squeeze-’em-for-every-cent-we-can-get mindset of Trump and the Republicans who just implemented pay-to-play fees on: US citizenship ($5 million on a Trump card), H 1-B work visas ($100,000), and visa integrity fees ($250). If you’re poor–you’re outta here; if you’re rich–Trump has a deal for you.
Simply: Donald Trump is a criminal. If justice is real, and the rule of law stands, Trump WILL get due process, and he WILL be found guilty of crimes against hundreds of thousands of humans. The Supreme Court has green-lit his assault on our immigrant community BASED on skin color, for now.
BUT I BELIEVE IN THE FUNDAMENTAL GOODNESS OF MAN, WOMAN, AND THE HUMAN RACE. There are more kind, decent human beings than there are bad apples like Trump, Stephen Miller, Spam-head Homan, and all the ICE thugs. We need more light, love, patience, and kindness. And don’t come at me with all that forgiveness crap. There are real-world consequences for inflicting pain and suffering on others. We reap what we sow.
Meaning: If karma is real, Trump–and ALL his goons and enablers–will get what they deserve. They’ll be sent to their own hell-hole: Alligator Alcatraz.
