547 days into Trump’s presidency and Trump’s dirty underbelly is on display for all to see. In the Chapter entitled “Holy Crap” of my book, Douchebag Wisdom: Dealing with Donald Trump, I wrote: “Am I saying Donald Trump is evil? Read Chapter 3, DarthTrump, for the answer to that. Spoiler alert: the answer is “I’m not sure.” But without some new perspectives, he’s leading us down the path where evil resides.”
Now, today? I amend that original statement: Donald Trump is absolutely evil! Actually, Donald Trump is Absolute Evil. Donald Trump is Evil. Absolutely.
How much clearer can I make it?
Anyone who PUTS KIDS IN CAGES IS EVIL.
How long did it take me to arrive at that conclusion, Trump is evil? Too friggin’ long. 3000 kids are in cages, ripped from their parents’ arms! Some will never be reunited and no one in Trump’s Administration seems to care. Perhaps if I hadn’t given him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps if I and everyone else in the media had really called out the hate. Could we have possibly stopped this?!

Why is everyone giving Trump a pass? Why did I? Even in November 2017, one year after Trump STOLE the election from Hillary Clinton, as I was publishing the book, I wanted to and did give him the benefit of the doubt. Even though Trump had shown us every day of his campaign how ugly he truly is, I wanted to believe he wasn’t that vile. Calling immigrants rapists and murderers? That’s racist hate speech. Reading a poem about a sneaky, nasty snake and equating it to immigrants IS deplorable. And now Trump calls immigrants—refugees!– ANIMALS and he’s putting them in cages!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!
Who knew Trump could be so vile?
V-I-L-E is E-V-I-L with the letters scrambled! Like our brains as we try to justify this hate—this travesty of humanity.
Who knew Trump would act on all of his vile, disgusting racist impulses and execute an agenda that punished People Of Color BY TAKING AWAY THEIR CHILDREN!?
Perhaps if more of us had called Trump’s retched rhetoric out earlier we could have persuaded others NOT to vote for him. Perhaps if I hadn’t softened my language for the “Independent” voter and the “Uninformed” voter wanting to let them make up their own minds. I—like the truth-seeking, hard-working media–was trying NOT to infringe on Trump-supporters’ opinions, and wanting to honor their thoughts and feelings, I pulled the punch: I didn’t tell the truth. I didn’t speak up. I am culpable. I am my brother’s keeper. (Get that reference so-called “Christians”?!)
Let me try again and use the RIGHT words.

YES, Trump is pure vile evil.
Go ahead, disagree, support Trump on his agenda; burn in hell with him. In the meantime, I will do everything I can to tell the truth, to expose the truth, and that means calling out and exposing Trump’s dirty underside. He represents the WORST of humanity.
