The #Trump20: 10 lbs UP-10 lbs DOWN

Be healthy; stay strong; resist!

Is anyone else on the weight roller coaster? Up ten pounds, down ten pounds, then up ten pounds,  down ten pounds. I’m either stuffing my face with everything not nailed down, or in true warrior fashion—taking control of my thoughts and myself, eating right, NOT DRINKING, and not binging on chocolate!

I chalk it up to the #Trump20–and it’s REAL! And it started way before Election Day, but that’s when I noticed it. Standing on the scale that unfortunate morning, Nov 9, 2016, I realized I’d gained ten pounds.

Fudge. Literally. This was obviously Donald Trump’s fault.

I tried to remain hopeful and positive during Trump’s campaign, but I knew I’d been swallowing my words and feelings. Here was proof. The fear that Donald Trump would be elected was real and it was weighing me down. I attribute it to margaritas, lots of them, in the name of helping me cope. To me, it was clear, Trump was bullying and buying his way into the White House—with a lot of help from his Russian friends. And he was doing it with hatred and loathing towards other people. Watching the Republicans be rolled, one-by-one, by the ugly, vile things coming from Trump’s puckered pie-hole, was disheartening. So I drank, and ate: ten pounds worth.

But on Election Day, I lost my appetite for all things Trump and took the vow to stay strong and resist.

Not just against his financial policies. (He’ll bankrupt the country, and I and the younger generation will have to pay for it.) But it’s not even about the money. It’s about all the people Trump is hurting and the people the Trump fans are hurting: Muslims, Hispanics, immigrants in general, women, children, the handicapped, the old, and the poor!

Watching this shit-show unfold; watching the stories of people being deported, families torn apart. Our dreamers for God’s sake! How dare Trump kick them out and then blame Democrats for not bargaining with their lives. Just writing about it makes me want to drink, and dull the rage.

But I won’t. I’m not: drinking OR gaining weight. I’m done with that.

I’m staying strong. I’m eating healthy, taking care of myself, preparing to march. The #Trump20 is real, but I’m back down. And in the right frame of mind.

And for those of you UNABLE to eat because you’re nauseated by Trump policies: rolling back people’s rights (LGBTQ), ripping undocumented Mothers’ from their daughters, allowing corporations to dump toxic crap into our rivers and frack our National Parks, wasting money on a military parade when our Vets are homeless and starving!!! The list could go on for pages…

You need to eat, and keep up your strength. You don’t want to get too thin.

Don’t be like the women within Trump’s orbit who cannot hold their food down: Melania, Ivanka, Kellyanne, Hope. All twigs. Although Hope Hicks is gone now; we’ll see if she puts on a few healthy pounds. Even Sarah Sanders isn’t able to keep her lunch down. She’s shrinking before our very eyes. Further proof the Trump twenty is real, except in Sarah’s case, she’s crashin’. It doesn’t look healthy.

Stay strong. Take care of yourself. Don’t make Trump your excuse; make Trump your reason. Fight back. Need ways how?
